National stereotypes

The English  

Men wear bowler hats, pin striped suits, a newspaper under the arm and carry a long unopen umbrella.They drink a lot of beer  They are crazy about dogs  

 They drink tea at five. 

They love the queen 

They eat fish and chips 

They read the Times newspaper 

They play cricket and darts 

An Englishman, a ‘bobby’. 

Two English, a club. 

Three English, ‘the navy’.

 

 

 

The Germans 

Men are fat, and love beer, leather trousers, sauerkraut or bratwurst and beer, and have dodgy facial hair. The women are icy Teutonic beauties with blonde hair and blue eyes.

They love to organize public life.   

They eat about five meals a dayThey love make up rules, whether these rules are needed often, rarely, or never. 

They are humourless. They don’t know the meaning of the word Witz (joke in German). They hate inefficiency, 

They are unfriendly.

The Italians    

Italian men are very charming 

They are happy and funny 

They are elegant  

They are romantic, passionate, affectionate and good lovers 

They are quick-tempered 

They are good cooks and eat pasta.

 

They love music.
